Our Utah Vacation

Sorry guys, blog overload.

So during our visit with the Meyers, we got a chance to run up to Boise real quick (ha. ha. like any trip to Boise is quick) and go to Michael Yeck's reception!

Ashley Claire is Awesome.

Oh oh and we got to play Nirts. Which is definitely a Nygaard/Yeck kinda thing. We just like to be noisy and Nirts is a great outlet.

The following week we drove down to Utah and I was stupid and didn't take too many pictures of my fam. Sorry guys. We did get a chance to see Grandma Stoddard which was epic. As it always is.
Hooray for Four Generations!
And that would be my sweet father. I'm so glad you made it down, Dad!

Ashley Claire is leaving on a mission this Wednesday and I cannot believe it. I'm so sad and so happy at the same time. She is the funniest and sweetest person I know and I'm going to be really bummed not to have someone to laugh at my crazy family with. I know she is going to do so well, though! She is totally prepared and ready to face the challenges. I just hope South America can handle a Nygaard. They don't know whats about to hit them.

Yellowstone!

So I have a sad confession to make. Even though I had lived in Idaho for over 3 years I had never gone to Yellowstone. It was always on the "to-do list" but never got done. Michael's sweet parents understood my longing and took us on a two day trip in which we also fulfilled Michael's wish of camping with Caroline (why he would want to camp with a 1 year old is beyond my understanding).

Hooray for old faithful!

Caroline was so GOOD the whole time! I was so worried because it was just constant getting in and out of the car seat and she handled it like a trooper. She did get a little loopy though and thought her bunny belonged on her head most of the trip.

I had so much fun!! Thank you Trish and Steve for taking us! It was gorgeous!! I can't wait for our next camping trip!! :)

Our Idaho Vacation

So we had a lovely visit with the Larger Meyers Clan out west from the 1st to the 10th. We got a chance to hang out with all of the cousins and reacquaint ourselves with Jon, who got back from his mission in Canada a few months ago.

We had a blast at the Idaho Falls Parade. Eating too many sweets and being annoyed with people in big hats.

Also got a chance to watch the fireworks! Thank you Melaleuca.

The time really did fly and we wish our visit could have lasted a little longer! We went to Rexburg to visit Jon on our last day there and Holy Mackerel has it changed!! The buildings are so much larger and nicer than they were a year ago when we were there. Now why is that?? Of course, it is still under construction so I guess it was a little hard to appreciate how much had been done when you still had to make annoying detours. But thats life. And BYU-Idaho. I guess I would have missed the cones and the road work if it hadn't been there.

Ugly Fathers Day Tie -2011 Edition-

I never got around to posting this! Sorry everyone!! I know you all have been dying to find out what Michael wore on Fathers day.
Isn't it precious? He's such a good sport.

Caroline's Stats for 15 Months

A lot has happened this month that I haven't blogged about and I kept putting it off because I'm lazy. That, and everything that has happened has been to small to just blog about by itself. You know? You kinda wanna wait so you have more to talk about then just one little incident? Maybe that's just my insecurities talking.

We went to the doctor yesterday and here are her stats:
Height 31" (70%)
Weight 23lb 10oz (60%)
Head 47cm (80%)
So we can conclude that she has a big head like her father. Just means she has a lot of brains like her dad. :)
First things first. I attempted a dress for the baby. Did not have a pattern and I think it turned out okay all considering I had no idea what I was doing. And I had a ton of fabric left over from the high chair cloth experiment.

She looks pretty darn cute and hides all the imperfections of her outfit well.

And I had a birthday! Thank you Michael for being so sweet on my special day! And the sweet notes from parents! :)

And now for the embarrassing part of today's blog. I was really excited about father's day so I decided to celebrate way too early. Unintentionally, I got everything ready for last Sunday as opposed to having everything ready for this Sunday. Half way through our celebrations of fatherhood, Mike got a call about home-teaching and it was mentioned that fathers day was next weekend. We scoffed, and said "No, of course it is today." But it wasn't. Which means Michael did not have to wear his ugly tie until next Sunday.

Well what did we do for Dad on the random Sunday of June? We made him things that Super Heroes need. Because he is a secret, crime stopping hero. For sure.

And then to top off a great day we made hamburger cupcakes. Because they looked so darn cute and yummy! Which they were. These made me very, very happy. (The "bun" is a cupcake cut in half, the "burger" is a brownie cut into the shape of a circle and the "fries" are sugar cookies. Very addicting.)

Hope fathers day goes well for you all! I'll post pictures of Mike's ugly tie next week.... ;)

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself!

I did something marginally crafty. I made a high chair! whoohoo! Someone sent me an email that had these cloth high chairs for toddlers and I really wanted one. Something easy to bring to other people's house or out to eat. But it was $30. So not going to happen anytime soon. Well I just snitched the idea and made one myself! It wasn't too hard even though I was just going off one picture...

So the idea is you tie them to the chair so they can't scoot off. I think it turned out kinda cute!

Caroline was pretty excited about it too.

It took a lot of convincing to make her give it back.

We had to play a couple of games of peekaboo.

But then I just gave up and turned on Tangled. She abandoned it which gave me a chance to fold it nicely...

Isn't it cute??
Anyway... thought I would share. :)
